If things go as planned, I will be seeing At The Drive-In and Hot Rod Circuit at the Ottobar tonight. It will be good to see Mr. Poorman.

So a four day weekend has past. *sigh* Definitely did not seem like four days.

Anyhoo, my weekend was okay. Some adventures, some that I'm still feeling the effects from, but nothing spectacular. Friday afternoon was spent driving to the Rents'. I just got off at the end of the New Jersey turnpike and realized I wouldn't have enough for the GW toll or the New York Thruway toll into New England. No problem I say, I'll just stop at the good ol' Vince Lombardi rest stop and get some cash out of the ATM. No problem until I get in the rest stop and see some guy working on the ATM and ATM pieces parts all over the floor beside him. @%#$^!!! I get to my car and head back on to the Turnpike and hope for the best. Luckily, I scraped up enough change out of my car to pay for the GW. I hand the lady at the booth a handful of change. "Does this add up to $4," she asks looking at the pile of nickels and dimes in her palm. "Of course," I reply (it did, I swear). "Okay, get out of here." Similar repsonse at the New York Thruway toll.

Saturday night was action and adventure. Around 11 PM, watching 8mm, not the greatest movie by the way, I smelled a skunk. Remembering my dog was outside, I went to bring her in. I call her and she comes inside and then I notice her eyes are shut and oozing and she was foaming at the mouth. "My God, she got sprayed in the face." She stunk to high heaven. She eventually got a tomato juice bath, which helped but not nearly enough and really stunk up my parents' house. My left hand still has a slight oder to it today, but my hand has to be right at my nose for me to smell it. At least it's my left hand, but still, it's annoying as you can get.

Sunday afternoon, I left for Baltimore later than I wanted to. I stop by three ATMs and none of them will let me take money out and I don't want to repeat what happend Friday. I go back to my parents and borrow some money from my mom and I'm on my way. I get into Baltimore a little after 11 PM. Action and adventure.

I hate it when I don't know how I feel. I am a total sucker.

I saw the most vile thing while on Tommy Boy's site yesterday - Pimpadelic. Ugh. This is compete and utter trash. Is it no surprise they're on tour with the Kottonmouth Kings (an equally vile group)? Nope, won't even link them.

As expected, De La Soul's Art Official Intelligence: Mosiac Thump and Big L's The Big Picture deliver and deliver big.

I know I've been a little delinquent about posting lately. I actually haven't been spending a lot of time online lately. No, honest. I have also been pretty contemplative lately as well. I'm sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I'm not sure how I feel about things lately. I'm all about using the word "lately."

In a somewhat good mood today. Work is actually being kind of productive. Got the new De La Soul and Big L. They should be very good.

Thinking about visiting the 'rents this weekend.

Here it is, the first picture of of my nephew, Benjamin Isaac.

The hairy little guy was born one week ago on July 26th at 6:13 PM. He weighed 9lbs. 4.5oz and was 21.5" long. Everyone survived...even my brother the father. Today is Benjamin's B'rit Milah. Let's see if he survives that.

After reading some things on Upski's site, I'm thinking I should reread that NY Times article.
07:54 | link |

Upski's got the whole thing on his own site. Kid's got 15 PAGES in response to the NY Times article. Drama.

Remember this article? It was pretty good, although I couldn't agree with some of it. Upski was not happy with parts of it and felt villified by a lot of it. In other words, he feels he got played by the reporter. Not to surprising, considering the state of journalism today. Check out Upski's reply here.
