The end of an era.

Another school shooting. *sigh*

Oh, yeah. Somebody dropped something or something fell. I don't know... I hear that they are making a movie about it though. Or something like that.

This makes me excited. And I don't even own a Mac!

Kerroo is back up. Kerry seems to have very strong feelings toward Star Trek and/or the Malaysian government. Check this out for more details.

So, Tripod, for whatever reason, felt it necessary to take Kerroo down. Those bastards! Kerry has let me know that she is coming back hard with a vengeance and is taking on all suckers with a domain of her own. Rock on!

So after a looooong week and a long Friday at work, I decided to get some sort of semblance of reality in my life and walked from Harvard Square to the temple at 72 Commonwealth Avenue in the Back Bay. It can be a nice walk, generally dependent on the weather. The weather was on my side yesterday. After about an hour of walking and japa. I got to the temple. Premananda, my long time friend there, inquired about some past events. I didn't really feel like getting into it, but did anyway. It was really no big deal. Later he asked me if I was interested in giving the Wednesday evening class at the temple. "Yes and no," I thought. Not feeling qualified I balked at the question stating that five days was not enough time to prepare. He saw through the ruse, but deffered when I told him I would think about it and let him know Sunday. Ugh. What to do?

After the temple I decided to walk back home and then decided against it. I was too tired, so I headed for the T. Thinking I didn't want to go home and I didn't want to do much of anything else either, I was pleasantly surprised to see Mary Lou Lord at Park Street station. For better or for worse it was what I needed. Ms. Lord ran through her list of covers as she rarely plays her own stuff here. She performed "I Don't Want to Get Over You" by the Magnetic Fields and "Love at First Feel" by AC/DC amoung others. I quietly stood about ten feet away from the diminutive Lord feeling apeased by her song stylings. Funny event of the evening was when some young kid asked her if she was Juliana Hatfield. "Um... no," she replied slightly annoyed, but with a smile. Eventually after passing up about 6 outbound trains, I decided it was time to go. I drop a ten spot in the box and grabbed her latest cd, Live City Sounds, a collection of her live subway performances. Did I mention that her hair was very Daphne from Scooby-Doo? Well, it was.

I get home and end up discussing the pros and cons of Mary Lou Lord with Kiehl when she interrogates me subtly starts a "[between us]" conversation where she professes her undying longing to be the mother of my children. All ten of them. inquires about the status of a potential visit to a certain someone with sassy and fitting hair. It went something like this. Man, is she going to kill me.

kiehlorama: so ryan.
kiehlorama: lets have a little chat.
ryanck13 : yes, kiehl?
kiehlorama: [between us]
ryanck13: [of course]
kiehlorama: you need to be a smart boy.
ryanck13: that a vicious rumo- er, yes, i am.
kiehlorama: yes?
ryanck13: i suppose.
ryanck13: [between us]
kiehlorama: smart boys get on planes and visit sassy girls.
kiehlorama: you should.
kiehlorama: [between us]
ryanck13: way ahead of you on that, miss i-think-i'm-so-smart.
ryanck13: [of course]
kiehlorama: well, you should.
kiehlorama : she is amazing and you seem like a fine fellow, so i'd like to give you some credit.
kiehlorama: so whats yr plan, stan?!
ryanck13: i know. i asked ms. sassy for a good weekend and ms. sassy has yet to give one.
kiehlorama: ask her again.
ryanck13: yes, ma'am.
kiehlorama: i hope im not being pushy. heh.
ryanck13 : pushy? you? never.
ryanck13 : you are the most subtle of things.
kiehlorama: okay, between us buster
kiehlorama: i dont want her to think im interfering, which im not.
ryanck13: yeah, yeah, yeah...
kiehlorama: dude
ryanck13 : don't call me dude.
kiehlorama : :-)
ryanck13 : [between us]
kiehlorama: yes!
ryanck13 : yeah...
kiehlorama: dont make me kick yer ass
ryanck13 : for free? i mean... no, of course not.

Of course, I'm still trying to figure out this line.

kiehlorama : not dana-in-the-hot-tub-spicey, but yknow

On second thought, maybe it's better that I don't know.

More on the birthday tip from Wired News.

Happy Birthday to Ken
Barbie's boy toy is 40 years old. Mattel debuted the Ken doll in March 1961 and he's been Barbie's boyfriend ever since. Ken -- whose full name is Ken Carson and whose official birthday is March 13 -- has not let the couple's age difference come between them: Barbie is two years older. (For the record, her full name is Barbara Millicent Roberts.) To mark the milestone, Mattel is selling a commemorative, tuxedo-clad Ken that comes with a mini-Ken: a tiny replica of the very first doll, wearing a red bathing suit, cork sandals and yellow towel.

What do you do when the only one in your band that can sing quits? Yes, Mel C is my favorite of the Spice Girls. I'll admit it.

Does this look familiar? A little too familiar for my tastes.

Not only can she not write code, she can't steal it "right" without cleaning out the original references and comments.
